The pursuit of your why can be a thrilling adventure, but getting started can be a big challenge. Let’s take a look at three motivational secrets.
- Others are generally concerned about their whys, not yours. This comes as no surprise. Employers, managers, coworkers, etc. are focused on achieving their desired results. Therefore, the decisions that are made for you will sometimes move you away from your purpose. To combat this fact, you need to keep your why statement prominently displayed. The more you see your why statement, the more motivated you will be to pursue it.
- The potential of your why is unlimited. Most people attach the pursuit of their whys to their earning potential. Your why also can be attached to influence, encouragement, contribution, and so forth. Living your why takes you out of the box. No longer is your potential limited by the environment, it is unlimited. This should be a huge motivation to keep pursuing your why.
- The best version of you is connected to your why. It is hard to live your why and be miserable, angry, and obstinate. When you begin living your why, the best version of you comes to life. Sure, there will be challenges, but the challenges will be met with vigor and enthusiasm. You will rediscover the joy of living the way you were designed and you’ll discover that many of the things that were major concerns suddenly fade into the background.
The easiest thing to do isn’t always the best thing to do. However, if you believe you have a purpose and are determined to make a difference today and in years to come, living your why is vital. You can always live like everyone else, but is that the path to living your why? Think about it.
